چکیده
BACKGROUND To evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of docetaxel, cisplatin, fluorouracil (TPF) regimen followed by intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) on locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). METHODS A total 150 patients with NPC [American Joint Committee Cancer (AJCC) 2009 stage IIIa-IVb] received 2 or 3 cycles a TPF as induction chemotherapy. group 67 participants (TPF group) continued to receive chemotherapy radiotherapy, remaining 83 (P cisplatin radiotherapy. RESULTS median follow-up 35 months (4-66 months) showed that there was no significant difference between P in progression-free survival (PFS) overall (OS). The incidence rate myelosuppression at 3-4 degrees 16.9% 34.3% (P=0.029), respectively, oral mucosa reaction 18.1% 37.3% group, respectively (P=0.007). 3-4-degree skin 15.7% 29.9% (P=0.030), respectively. liver function injury significantly lower than (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS Compared concurrent IMRT improvement OS PFS NPC, but exhibited more severe hematologic toxicity, mucosal responses, reactions, functional impairment.

BACKGROUND To evaluate the experience of induction chemotherapy followed by concurrent chemoradiationwith helical tomotherapy (HT) for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). METHODS Between August 2006 and December 2009, 28 patients with pathological proven nonmetastatic NPC were enrolled. All patients were staged as IIB-IVB. Patients were first treated with 2 to 3 cycles of induction chemotherapy w...

متن کاملDosimetric comparison between intensity modulated radiotherapy and three dimensional conformal radiotherapy planning in patients with locally advanced cervical carcinoma
Background: External beam radiotherapy (EBRT) is mainstay of treatment in patients with locally advanced cervical carcinoma (LACC). Three dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT) and intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) are mainly used in EBRT. However which one is superior is still controversial. Materials and Methods: Forty patients of LACC treated with IMRT were selected for this study....
